Enterprising Macclesfield hit a milestone of receiving 200 applications for support from local individuals, start-ups and small businesses. This is an outstanding achievement for a Community Interest Company (CIC), operated by a team of committed business professionals volunteering their time to help enterprises in Macclesfield and the surrounding area grow and prosper.
Expressing his delight, Tim Shercliff, Chair of Enterprising Macclesfield, said:
“As a team, we are very proud of the work we have done for the local community and our impact in helping local entrepreneurs set up new businesses and create new jobs. We believe our town has a lot of talent with great ideas, creativity and passion. Through our initiative, we are trying to bring them all together with a real sense of community spirit, to deliver some fantastic results for the local area.”
Since its establishment in 2015, Enterprising Macclesfield has provided local commercial and social enterprises free business coaching support, free business advice from local specialists and access to local and regional sources of support and funding. 48% of these enterprises were existing local businesses, while 52% have been start-ups. More than 500 hours of volunteer time have been dedicated to the day-to-day running of Enterprising Macclesfield.
The growing support network that has made this possible now includes 16 coaches and 27 Local Advisory Partners (LAPs), covering the different industry sectors and business expertise e.g. legal, tax, IT, marketing, design, finance, business planning, property, etc.
Honorary Patron of Enterprising Macclesfield, David Rutley MP, said:
“I am delighted to learn that Enterprising Macclesfield has reached the milestone of 200 applications for support. This impressive achievement is a testament to the hard work, energy and ambition of all involved in this positive organisation, and a demonstration of the important role it continues to play in providing much-valued advice and support to local individuals, start-ups and small businesses.
Enterprising Macclesfield has my continued strong backing as they work to further promote the wealth of talent and opportunity in our town, and I would urge local businesses and community groups to support its important work.”
